Win a Spot in Ali Edwards New Class: Hello Story!

Hello Story
12 weeks of creative storytelling techniques with Ali Edwards
7/8/2013-9/29/2013 $99

What's your story? This summer, say hello to a dozen fun strategies for sharing more of your words, and more of yourself, on your scrapbook pages.

In her new 12-week workshop, Hello Story, Ali Edwards will introduce you to 12 storytelling techniques—never-before-seen in her prior journaling workshops—that will bring creativity and clarity to both your writing and your page designs. Every week, you get to sit over Ali's shoulder and watch her transform her story ideas into timeless, authentic, story-rich scrapbook pages.

Through dozens of in-depth videos that cover storytelling and design ideas as well as 36+ exclusive layout examples from Ali (12" x 12" and 8 1/2" x 11" layouts, plus Project Life inserts), Hello Story will inspire you to take action and give you the tools you need to tell your own stories with confidence.

Are you ready to discover (or rediscover) the fun that comes from the interplay of design and words? By the end of class, you may even enjoy the writing process just as much as you love taking photos and playing with paint and paper!

October Afternoon Farm Girl with Windy Robinson!

Hi Bloggers! Happy Sunday to you! Today I'm very pleased to bring you a gorgeous exclusive card by the very talented Windy Robinson!

Here are a few words from the designer about creating this beauty:
I was inspired by a floral oil cloth bag that dug out of the closet the other day to try to create the same effect on a card… so here it is. Its is hard to see the shine from the front photo so I sent a detail that illustrates how it looks. Here are the instructions for creating it:)
Instructions:
1) Make card base from kraft cardstock. Add yellow dot patterned paper to face of card as pictured.
2) Cut floral patterned paper slightly smaller that yellow dot paper. Distress edges with Antique Linen Distress Paint & allow to dry.
3) Cover entire surface of floral patterned paper with a layer of Diamond Glaze & allow to dry. Sew piece to face of card with a messy double zig zag stitch.
4) Add horizontal kraft band to face of card. Make sentiment banner, painting edges with Antique Linen Distress Paint and adhere to card with dimensional adhesive.
5) To make flowers, cut patterned paper circles with Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles in desired sizes. Cut 3 sets of three circles in descending sizes. Cut petals with scissors (see below). Fold and add Distress Paint to create dimension. Layer circles to create flowers and adhere sequins to center with Diamond Glaze.
6) Cut/emboss kraft cardstock leaves with Spellbinders Foliage. Layer and adhere leaves and flowers on card.
